Don't let repressed anxieties stop you from taking a creative risk. You have wonderful instincts when it comes to most things artistic and creative. Don't expect favourable feedback in the early stages of this project. It would be best to hide your work until it's finished. There's no point subjecting yourself to petty criticisms whilst you're developing an idea. When you do wrap things up, you'll feel a surge of confidence that is quite empowering. Use this belief in yourself as a springboard to bigger and better things.
