Putting a loved one on a pedestal could be creating problems in your relationship. It's important to accept someone for who they really are. Embrace the good, the bad and the ugly. If you don't, they'll feel pressured to live up to an impossible ideal. At that point, resentment will tear you apart. An unreliable colleague is creating more work for you. Bring the problem to your employer's attention. You shouldn't get paid one salary if you're doing two jobs.
