Russian Ambassador in Cairo Sergei Kiribchenko said the Egyptian delegation will be warmly welcomed by the organizing committee of the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students (WFY), to be held in Sochi on October 14 to 22.
The participation reflects Egypt's importance in the heart of the Arab World, he said.
The ambassador's remarks were made during his meeting with members of the executive committee of the Egyptian delegation, which groups around 100 persons, led by Sherif Gad and representatives of political parties, the Youth and Sports Ministry, the presidential youth program.
In a statement released on Wednesday by the Russian Cultural Center, the ambassador said participation in such festival is a hope for all youths worldwide as it opens the door for youths to exchange expertise on the various world cultures and give them a chance for spreading peace and rejecting violence and fanaticism.
The Egyptian committee also discussed with the Russian ambassador means of resuming the Russian tourism movement to Egypt, especially the tourism movement to Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh as they are the favorite destinations for the Russian tourists.
