Over 40 Algerian and foreign artists from 11 countries will partake in the 37th edition of Timgad International Festival to be held from 30 July to 6 August in the new theatre of the archaeological city of Timgad (Batna), Commissioner of the Festival Lakhdar Bentorki announced Sunday.
Holding a press conference in Algiers, Bentorki announced the 37th edition will be held under the slogan "One Nation, One People", noting that the opening ceremony will be purely Algerian with the participation of 16 artists and musical troops.
A host of Algerian artists will enliven the evenings of Timgad like Khaled, Souad Massi, Anwar, Zahouania, Hamid Belbech, Sihem, the troupe Djemaoui Africa and Azzou, the young rising star of the Algerian song.
Like previous editions, this edition will witness a modest participation of Arab artists, as Tunisian Sabir Rebai, Lebanese Wael Jassar, Syrian Samer Kheirbek, Moroccan Ahmed Chawki and the Canadian of Lebanese origin Massari.
Artists and music troops from the United States, France, Caribbean Islands, Mali, Portugal, Canada will also participate during this 37th edition, like "Magic of Motown" (USA), David Carriera (Portugal) Kevin Lyttle (West Indies), Mokobe (Mali) and the French of Algerian origin Lacrime.
