People wash their belongs by the Lhasa river in Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. Local Tibetans celebrated the annual Bathing Festival in their time-honored ways. The Bathing Festival usually falls on the first ten days of July on Tibetan calendar. Mass bathing starts when Venus rises to the sky and ends when the star sets. Legend goes that bathing at this period is beneficial to health.
