British-American researcher John O'Keefe on Monday jointly won the Nobel Medicine Prize with Norwegian husband and wife team, Evard I. Moser and May-Britt Moser, for discovering an inner GPS system in the brain.
"This year's laureates have discovered a positioning system, an 'inner GPS' in the brain that makes it possible to orient ourselves in space," the jury said.
