The European Union expressed concern Thursday about new fighting in eastern Ukraine despite a ceasefire agreed last month.
"We are concerned about the intensification... of shooting and shelling in eastern Ukraine," which led to the deaths of civilians near a school in Donetsk, a spokesman for the EU's diplomatic service said.
