Newport (United Kingdom) (AFP) - France suspended delivery of a Mistral-class warship to Russia after "listening to pressure from the international community" and will reassess its decision in November, a French diplomatic source said.
"The contract is suspended until November. At that date we will see what the financial consequences are," the source said, adding that the suspension of the 1.2-billion ($1.6-billion) deal -- for two Mistral-class helicopter assault ships -- "could cost us one billion euros".
