US President Barack Obama urged his Republican opponents to work with him on immigration reform Wednesday but warned he would take executive action without their support before the end of the year.
"Before the end of the year, we're going to take whatever lawful actions we can take that I believe will improve the functioning of our immigration system," he told a news conference, a day after Republican victory in US midterm elections.
