Israeli aircraft carried out four air strikes over the Gaza Strip early Thursday, shortly after a new ceasefire brokered by Egypt came into effect, a Palestinian official told AFP.
A spokeswoman for the Israeli army told AFP earlier that Palestinian militants launched six rockets towards Israel late Wednesday, four of which hit open areas and one of which was intercepted.
