Moscow on Thursday denied that it had agreed with the US to ramp up intelligence sharing over the Islamic State group, despite claims from Washington that the two sides had agreed to cooperate.
Russia's foreign ministry in a statement refuted assertions made by US Secretary of State John Kerry after a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov Tuesday, saying that Moscow "will not join any 'coalition' set up without the backing of the UN Security Council."
