Two giant Danish ships transited the Suez Canal on Sunday, carrying 400,000 tons of cargo, a canal source said.
Mary Maersk container ship was part of the south-bound convoy and it was en route to Malaysia.
The other container, Marit Maersk, was part of the north-bound convoy and it was on its way to Spain.
Two tug boats of the Suez Canal Authority were escorting the two giant ships in anticipation of any emergency.
