Seventy-one ships crossed the Suez Canal on Friday, Mohab Mamish, head of the Suez Canal Authority, has said.
The ships carried a total cargo of 4.6 million tons, Mamish said in statements Saturday.
Dredging operations are going on fine at the waterway, he said.
Sixteen dredgers are already on site and four more will operate by the end of December, Mamish noted.
