Housing Minister Moustafa Madbouli said Sunday that a land lottery, the biggest ever, will be launched next week.
Land lots will be put up for grabs by citizens, said Madbouli in a meeting with Ministry officials, adding that service and investment lands will also be available in new cities.
A deadline will be set to extend utilities to a number of land portions that will be floated.
A statement by the Housing Ministry said that more than 28,000 portions will be available as part of the lottery.
Small lots (social housing land) will be available in the cities of Badr, Obour, the 10th of Ramadan, Sadat, New Borg el Arab and new cities in Upper Egypt, the statement noted.
Upscale housing lots will also be available in the cities of the 6th of October, Badr, the 10th of Ramadan, Sadat, new Borg el Arab and new cities in Upper Egypt.
Elevated housing lots will be available in the cities of Sheikh Zayed, the 6th of October, New Cairo, Shorouk, Obour, New Damietta, the 15th of May, Sadat, New Beni Sweif and New Sohag.
