The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) estimated volume of expected investments to Egypt from the 35th edition of Gitex Technology Week 2015 in Dubai to 30 million pounds.
In a press release on Monday, ITIDA said the Egyptian pavilion participating in the exhibition witnessed a remarkable turnout which reached 2,600 visitors.
A number of meetings were held between Egyptian companies and Gulf institutions interested in Egyptian companies' services and software. Egyptian Nilecode and Globe Soft companies signed agreements with a Saudi and Bahraini companies.
Gitex Technology Week 2015, edition 35 was held on October 18 -22 under the theme: "The Future of the Internet of Everything", with the participation of experts and representatives of government entities and local companies working in the Information and communications technology (ICT) field.
"GITEX Technology Week" is the largest event in the ICT field in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia where more than 3900 exhibiting companies participate in the current edition. This is in addition to 143,000 visitors and 2,000 executives from 144 countries to display the latest technologies in this industry and hold extensive discussions on ways of developing them. The current edition discussions are due to focus on innovation and rapid development that the "Internet of Everything” witnesses.
The ITIDA is a governmental entity affiliated to Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. It is responsible for growing and developing Egypt’s position as a leading global outsourcing location by attracting foreign direct investment to the industry and maximizing the exports of IT services and applications.
