Egypt's General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) signed recently contracts to import 235,000 tons of wheat from Russia and Romania for subsidized bread.
About 115,000 tons of Russian wheat and 120,000 tons of Romanian wheat have been purchased at an average price of 110.37 U.S. dollars per ton, said Mamdouh Abdel Fattah, the authority's deputy chief.
The amounts will be shipped during the August 21-31.
