General Authority for Supply Commodities signed a contract to buy 300,000 tons wheat

The General Authority for Supply Commodities signed Saturday a contract to buy 300,000 tons of Russian, French and Romanian wheat at an average price $221.39 per ton.

The authority signed the contract on behalf of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade.

The shipment will be delivered between June 5 and 15, and will be used in producing subsidized bread.

Few days ago, the Supply Ministry started to buy wheat from local farmers at 420 LE for each ardeb.

Some 3.7 million tons of wheat are expected to be delivered within three months.
