Khartoum - MENA
Egypt and Sudan signed a protocol of cooperation Saturday to launch joint projects of livestock and animal production in Sudan.
Under the protocol, Egypt will import about 700,000 heads of cattle per year from 2017.
A new livestock farm in Omdurman would be established upon the protocol, Egyptian Ambassador to Sudan Osama Shaltout told MENA.
Opening a new border crossing between the two Arab neighbors in March would cut two thirds of the transport costs and facilitate the flow of cattle from south to north, Shaltout said.
