Egypt's medical exports increase by 8.9% in January-August

The Egyptian Exporting Council of Medical Industries (ECMI) announced that exports in the medical industries sector increased by 8.9 percent in January-August to reach $329 million.

Exports in the sector increased by 2.2 percent in August, registering $46 million compared to $45 million during the same period in 2017, according to the council’s annual report.

Medicine exports increased within the first eight months of 2018, reaching $124 million, the report added.

Egypt exports medicine to a number of countries including Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iraq, the UAE, Sudan, Germany, Romania, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey.
