Ramallah - MENA
The Palestinian movement of Fatah has called for action to end what it calls a "starving campaign" against the people of Gaza at the hands of Hamas movement.
A comprehensive and responsible action is needed to counter a solidarity tax imposed by Hamas, said Fatah spokesman Ahmed Assaf on Saturday.
He accused Hamas of using a noble idea, which is that of solidarity, to achieve a non-noble goal, which is stealing the money of the poor to end up in the pockets of leaders and senior officials of the movement.
Hamas is not telling anybody where this illegal tax money goes, Assaf said.
Assaf wondered about the stance of the national consensus government regarding those taxes.
He urged Gazans to categorically reject that oppressive tax.
