Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Sunday with Finance Minister of Cape Verde Cristina Duarte.

The spokesman for the foreign ministry said the meeting discussed problems facing the African continent and ways of fighting poverty and improving the living standards of the African peoples.

Duarte, who is nominated to chair the African Development Bank, said the bank can play an effective role in achieving the aforementioned goals.
