Jordan campaign

Jordan seized more than 3,000 violating workers, mostly Egyptians, since the start of a campaign to rectify the status of foreign workers, said a Jordanian Labor Ministry official on Sunday.

Secretary General of Labor Ministry Hamada Abu Negma told MENA that any violating worker will be immediately deported home after the end of the April 23 deadline granted by the ministry to foreign workers to settle their conditions.

Having a legal work permit is a must to benefit from any services in the kingdom, he said.

He added that 420 violating institutions were closed during the campaign.

The kingdom has given a 60-day deadline to all foreign workers to legalize their stay or else will be deported home.
