Dakkar - KUNA
The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) distributed here on Saturday humanitarian aid to roughly 5,000 displaced Syrian families living in northern Lebanon.
KRCS Chairman Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer told KUNA that aid handed out to the Syrian families included foodstuff, cleaning materials and fuel.
This aid aims at alleviating the sufferings of Syrian refugees, especially children, women and elderly, facing hard weather conditions in makeshift shelters across Lebanon, he said.
He affirmed the KRCS commitment to helping the displaced Syrians amid these hard conditions.
On his part, Honorary Treasurer of KRCS Saad Al-Nahedh said that the society has been exerting effort since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis to meet the needs of the displaced Syrian families as much as possible.
The aid is handed out to the Syrian refugees across Lebanon under the directions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, he added.
Earlier today, KRCS announced that it has launched a dialysis treatment campaign for Syrian refugees in the city of Tripoli.
The society donated equipment to a local hospital to enable Syrian refugees to receive dialysis treatment.
