A conference on "the future of financial market and horizons of developing the stock market" will kick off here on Sunday under the auspices of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Industry Dr. Abdulmohsen Al-Madaj.
The Capital Markets Authority, economists and experts will take part in the event.
The Organizing Committee of the conference said in a statement on Saturday that the event is so significant that it will see a national initiative on the country's economic situation.
Securities House Board Chairman Ayman Boudi will present the initiative, which includes some proposals to tackle the current economic situation, it said.
A number of local, regional and international experts and representatives of the country's economic institutions as well as international companies are expected to participate in the event, it noted.
The Organizing Committee President Khaled Al-Mutawa said that the business and economics society hopes that the conference would be a launching point for addressing this situation.
He added that the financial sector is an essential pillar for many world economies.
