Kuwait - KUNA
The Ministry of Interior and Kuwait Municipality are determined to toughen punitive measures, mainly immediate deportation, against expatriates dealing in spoilt food, a senior security official warned here on Saturday.
Such uncompromising measures would be adopted at the behest of Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister and Acting Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of the Interior Ministry Gen. Suleiman Al-Fahad said.
They are primarily intended to ensure the health and safety of Kuwaiti citizens and residents alike and to protect them from greedy and rapacious spoilt food traders, he elaborated in press statements.
The Interior Ministry and Kuwait Municipality are stepping up concerted efforts in this regard, Al-Fahad added.
"The state is earnestly determined to fight the phenomenon of spoilt and expired food commodities sold by a small group of unconscientious expatriates," he said.
