Marking the National Day of New Valley governorate, its governor Maj. Gen. Mahmoud Ashmawy said that up to 124 service and development projects will be inaugurated on Monday.

This include projects in the fields of irrigation, sewage, roads in line with the state's plans to improve facilities and services offered to citizens, Ashmawy said, adding that he will inspect the progress achieved in 76 service and development projects that will be given the green light. 

Laying the foundation stone of 47 projects will be witnessed in the governorate, he said.

A number activities, including honoring former governors, will be held on the sidelines of this years' celebration, the governor noted.

Efforts are underway to finalize the drilling of the New Valley's first agricultural well in Abu Tartur district under the supervision of the Military Engineering Authority, the governor went on to say.

As many as 10,000 feddans in Abu Tartur have been reclaimed recently, he further said.
