The government imposes strict control on prices at public markets, Prime Minister Sherif Ismail asserted on Sunday.
The Egyptian citizen could play a key role in controlling market prices through reporting any price manipulation, Ismail said.
Speaking from the Investment Ministry’s headquarters, the premier said the government depends on the correct mechanisms to adjust markets and provide commodities for citizens at affordable prices.
Operations’ rooms and hotlines were established to deal with citizens’ complaints on any price manipulation, Ismail stressed, saying the government had set up points to sell goods at suitable prices.
Asked about a training project for employees at the government sector, Ismail replied that the program aims mainly to make good use of the workforce in other sectors.
Also, it will not negatively affect those who are working at the state's administrative apparatus, Ismail noted.
The prime minister further denied the program would involve laying off civil servants.
