President Abdel Fattah al Sisi held a meeting Wednesday with the members of the Specialized Council for Development to review a number of economic projects.

The meeting tackled the activities and assignments of the council, said Alaa Yousef, Spokesman for the Presidency.

President Sisi was briefed on the ongoing projects implemented by the Council, including a project to run 1,000 factories in New Cairo, Yousef said.

The council is also put forward a project to train cadres at various ministries and state institutions, said Yousef.

The council's members briefed President Sisi on studies that were completed in various development fields, mainly preparing a study on the use of financing Sukuk in Egypt, Yousef noted.

Yousef added that the participants floated a number of proposals, including placing a mechanism to follow up the outcome of Egypt's economic conference, held in Sharm Sheikh on March 13-15.

President Sisi praised coordination between the specialized councils belonging to the Presidency and various concerned authorities.
Sisi underlined the importance of enhancing such coordination to "enrich the national action at the stage of building that requires double efforts."

Sisi underlined the importance of fighting corruption and high cost of living, calling for working to reduce the prices.

At the end of the meeting, Sisi stressed the need to support the role of Consumer Protection Agency to serve the best interests of the citizens, particularly the low-income brackets.
