Nine participants from the Qatar Ministry of Finance (MOF) have successfully graduated from a program on Leadership Skills for High Performance managers organised by the Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) .
The objective of the three-day program was to provide MOF employees with the tools to develop their leadership potential and encourage sustained high performance in their careers, said QFBA in a statement today.
Chief Executive Officer of QFBA Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Horr expressed his delight at the graduation of a class of employees of the MOF who received theoretical and practical lessons in cultivating the art of effective leadership under the supervision of elite coaches.
"The Qatar Finance and Business Academy has always strived to keep up with developments in the fields of finance and business and the courses they offer are highly effective and well-suited to today’s work environment," he said.
"I would like to congratulate all nine graduates for successfully completing the program and I hope they can use the skills and knowledge they have gained from the course modules in their careers." The program was carefully constructed for senior managers, new directors and those looking for leadership development and covered several fundamental areas of leadership training - including tips on international practices for successful leadership and boosting self-confidence.
The program also covered training in other key areas - communication skills, human resources planning, creative solutions to problem solving and decision-making skills, accounting, financial reporting and finance management.
The Academy had previously organised a range of specialised courses for the staff of the MOF, including understanding recent trends in internal audit from the perspective of risk, new trends in the field of audit and internal control, the crucial role played by internal audit in institutional systems and tips to set up internal audit plans and audit reports, as laid down by the methods of risk assessment.
Other courses include the art of negotiation and persuasion, which targeted fresh and mid-career level employees to enhance their negotiation skills with external stakeholders.
The Academy also ran a program on Strategic Planning and Management for Leaders , which focused on the stages of strategic planning and setting up a mechanism for strategic plans and management.
QFBA aims to aid in the development of a generation of financial specialists in the coming years. This is in line with Qatar’s National Vision 2030 which aims to contribute to the development of a knowledge-based economy.
