A Social Fund Development (SFD) official unveiled on Monday current negotiations with several donors, including the European Union (EU) and the World Bank (WB), to get 250-million-dollar loans.
Medhat Massoud, head of the SFD central sector for Human and Community Development, made these remarks on the sidelines of a visit by a delegation representing the SFD, EU and the WB to Luxor to inspect completed projects in the city.
About the SFD plans to improve education in the country, he said the fund has opened more than 4,000 literacy classrooms, restored over 800 nursery schools and launched a number of awareness campaigns that benefited about 40,000 persons.
Besides education projects, the SFD dispatched 2,200 medical convoys that benefited 900,000 families.
The fund has also launched more than 900 cleanliness campaign in more than 151 villages.
