A ship sailed into Alexandria port on Tuesday carrying 47,000 tons of wheat from Russia, said spokesman for the port authority Reda el Ghandour.

The shipment was unloaded after finalizing all required procedures and examining some samples to make sure they are fit for human consumption, he added.

The wheat shipment will be trucked from the port's silos to a number of governorates.
