Bahrain Labour Fund “Tamkeen” has announced the renewal of its strategic partnership with “Manama Entrepreneurship Week” for the third consecutive year.
Organised by the Capital Governorate, the event will be held on 28 October to 2 November 2017 with Tamkeen’s support as a strategic partner in an effort to develop Bahraini workforce’s skills in the field of entrepreneurship to become important players in boosting the private sector.
HE Dr Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi, Tamkeen Chief Executive, stressed the organisation’s keenness to continue improving and developing Bahraini youth skills to become the first choice of employment.
"We are keen on fostering creativity and innovation in the young generation offering them great opportunity to take on the path of entrepreneurship as an alternative career path to employment. Therefore, Tamkeen continues supporting initiatives that aim at achieving prosperity for the national economy and enhancing the role of the private sector to enable it to become its main economic driver," said Dr Janahi in a statement on this occasion.
Moreover, he praised the efforts of the Capital Governorate, headed by HE Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, in establishing valuable programmes with extraordinary vision and objectives. He underlined Tamkeen's keenness to build fruitful partnerships with various entities to develop Bahraini individuals and provide them with all necessary tools for growth.
"cooperating with various sectors to achieve one of our key objectives of supporting entrepreneurship for all groups is one of our key priorities,” Dr Janahi said.
“These partnerships contribute to strengthening the establishment and development of institutions across its various stages of development and thus elevating the private sector to be the main engine of the national economy in the Kingdom of Bahrain," he added.
"Manama Entrepreneurship Week provides a useful insight on the opportunities and challenges associated with entrepreneurship and it offers experience-based tips on how to transform innovative ideas into business. It provides many promising opportunities that will increase the contribution of private companies to the GNP and enhance their competitiveness, allowing them to ship their products and services to regional and global markets," he explained.
He underscored that Tamkeen role in supporting various forums, especially the ones that represent a real opportunity to allow Bahraini youth keep tabs on successful projects and experiences in the field of entrepreneurship in the world.
Several prominent speakers will take the stage during the event, where they will shed light on innovative and creative projects and experiences that help in reaching young people to the regional and global markets by giving them mechanisms and rules through which they can develop their entrepreneurial skills and abilities.
It's worth noting that Tamkeen has supported more than 35,000 young Bahrainis through initiatives that aim to develop their skills and provide them with opportunities to unleash their potential and shape their future. It offers a broad range of grants and training services as well as financing and consultancy solutions for individuals and corporates.
The third edition of Manama Entrepreneurship Week will be held on October 28-November 2, where more than 5,000 attendees are expected to participate. The event will feature 14 events that will be overseen by 30 International and regional speakers.
