Tunis - MENA
Tunisia’s Enfidah was totally paralyzed on Monday after a general strike recorded nearly 100 percent in all government, public and private sectors, Besousa Emad Qarira, a senior labor federation official, said.
The reasons behind the sit-in is the failure of a Turkish company, in charge of management of all projects in Enfidah, including the international airport, to meet the demands of the working staff and to finalize the development projects in the area, he added.
The company, however, continued to expel more workers and employees, leading to a higher unemployment rate, he said.
