Suez Cuts Transit Fees for US-Asia Ships to Combat Allure of Cape of Good

Two giant Danish vessels transited the Suez Canal on Monday, according to an official source at the waterway authority.

The source said in statements that the first Danish ship led the south-bound convoy and came from the Netherlands en route to the Red Sea and then Singapore, carrying about 200,000 tons.

The source added the second vessel crossed as part of the north-bound convoy and came from Malaysia en route to the Mediterranean Sea and then Morocco.
