Forty ships transited the Suez Canal on Monday with a total cargo of 2.3 million tons.

The south-bound convoy included 22 vessels carrying 1.6 million tons, while the north-bound convoy included 18 ships carrying 756,000 tons, according to a statement issued by the Suez Canal Authority.
