Egypt depends on the Suez Canal as a major source of foreign currency, dollars

Forty-two ships transited the Suez Canal on Sunday, with a total cargo of 1.970 million tons.

The south-bound convoy included 19 vessels carrying 743,000 tons, while the north-bound convoy included 23 ships carrying 1.227 million tons, according to navigational statistics released by the Suez Canal Authority.
