Fifty-five ships transited the Suez Canal on Tuesday, with a total cargo of 2.4 million tons.

The south-bound convoy included 31 vessels carrying 1.3 million tons, while the north-

bound convoy included 24 ships carrying 1.1 million tons, according to a statement issued 

by the Suez Canal Authority.
