Egyptian International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr witnessed Thursday the signing ceremony of two EU Financing Agreements worth 62 million euros at the Ministry's HQ.

The ceremony was also attended by Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Education Minister El Helaly El Sherbeeny, Secretary-General of the National Council For Childhood & Motherhood (NCCM) Hala Abu Ali and Head of the European Union Delegation to Egypt James Moran.

For her part, Nasr signed the 32m euros worth Kafr El Sheikh Wastewater Expansion Programme agreement and the agreement on Expanding Access to Education and Protection of Children at Risk, through which euro 30m was offered by the EU and euro 6.15m by UNICEF that would execute the project in cooperation with the Education Ministry and the NCCM.

The last project comes as part of efforts by the Egyptian government to root out the phenomenon of school dropouts.

In statements during the ceremony, the international cooperation minister affirmed her ministry's keenness on utilizing in the best way the financial resources provided by development partners. This is one of the Egyptian government's top priorities in the current stage, she underlined.
