The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA)'s CEO Ausama bin Abdullah Al-Absi received the US Embassy's Deputy Media Attaché Michele K. Gossman accompanied with the Political Officer in the Embassy Carole Toma.
The meeting explored means of cooperation on training administrative staff in the LMRA on concepts and techniques of anti-human trafficking and imparting skills to discover, track such crimes and qualification as experts in this field through joining advanced specialized training courses.
Al-Absi informed the visiting American delegation about latest developments of the labour market reform project and executive steps taken in the application of this project. He also expounded on the LMRA's efforts aimed to remedy the phenomenon of unlicensed workforce and fighting human trafficking. He explained the Authority's efforts in this aspect. He also talked about the bundle of solutions and procedures which boost the efforts in addressing this crime.
The US delegation praised the Authority's efforts, citing the LMRA's attention and care to expatriate workers residing in the Kingdom. The delegation also praised the new rules and regulations adopted by the LMRA, commending the Authority's efforts in the protection of expatriate workers, ensuring their rights and the Authority's efforts in combating human trafficking and developing means to track and monitor such phenomenon.
