A key meeting was held today at Beit Al-Tejjar to explore joint investment opportunities in Bahrain and Sri Lanka. The session was attended by Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) board members, local businessmen and Sri Lankan investors.
"The meeting followed-up results of the successful Sri Lankan business delegation's visit to Bahrain last April", BCCI Second Vice Chairman Jawad Yusuf Al-Hawaj said. The two sides discussed the prospects of joint investment cooperation in all economic sectors in a bid to boost the volume of trade exchanges.
According to recent statistic figures released by the Central Informatics Organisation (CIO), the volume of trade exchanges between Bahrain and Sri Lanka averaged $30 million. Mr. Al-Hawaj stressed Bahrain private sector's keen interest to bolster joint relations, citing thriving economic sectors in Bahrain, particularly natural pearls, gold and jewellery, the exhibition industry and tourism.
The Sri Lankan delegation stressed firm desire to bolster economic cooperation and boost joint investments in all sectors with Bahrain. They outlined investments opportunities in their country, particularly in the sectors of pearls trade, telecommunications, furniture and manpower.
