China's major industrial firms' profit rose 4.2% year on year in April, slowing from an 11.1% rise registered in March, official data showed on Friday.

    Profits at industrial companies with annual revenues of more than 20 million yuan (about 3.1 million U.S. dollars) totaled 502 billion yuan last month, the National Bureau of Statistics said.
