Cairo - MENA
Transport Minister Saad el Geyoushi met with Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Song Aiguo to discuss aspects of cooperation in the investment and manufacturing fields.
Geyoushi explained to the Chinese diplomat why the ministry was interested in investment and manufacture and only resorts to borrowing in extreme necessity.
Egypt wants to benefit from the huge Chinese expertise especially that the relationship between the two countries allows a strategic partnership, the transport minister said.
Egypt had called off negotiations with China over the establishment of two trains and an Alexandria port multipurpose terminal as it seeks to build them through self-funding.
