Egypt and Vietnam agreed on Wednesday to ink five memorandums of understanding for cooperation in the fields of investment, bourse and harbors.
Investment and International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr, currently visiting Vietnam, held a meeting with Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung on means of boosting cooperation in the investment domain and establishing joint projects.
Suez Canal Authority Chairman Mohab Mameesh attended the meeting.
In a statement by the Investment and International Cooperation Ministry on Wednesday, Nasr noted that Egypt welcomes Vietnamese investors to do business.
The Egyptian and Vietnamese ministers agreed on inking two memorandums of understanding in the investment and bourse domains.
The two sides also agreed on holding an Egyptian-Vietnamese business forum soon, the statement noted.
Mameesh reviewed major investment opportunities, including the Suez Canal axis project.
Mameesh noted that Vietnamese investors have a great chance for doing business in several domains.
Nasr and Mameesh also had talks with Vietnamese Transport Minister Truong Quang Nghia on cooperation in the ports domain as Vietnam has a long experience in the domain.
The conferees agreed on inking three memos on cooperation in the harbors score.
Nasr and Mameesh also held a meeting with Vietnam's deputy trade and industry minister.
The conferees underlined the importance of putting into effect what was agreed upon during the fifth joint committee meeting.
The Vietnamese official stressed his country's keenness on investing in fish farming domain within the framework of the Suez Canal development axis project.
