President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Egypt welcomes Arab investments in Suez Canal area project, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said on Thursday.
This came during a meeting the president held on Thursday with Advisor at the Kuwaiti Amiri Diwan Youssef Hamad Al Ibrahim in which Kuwaiti ambassador in Cairo has attended.
During the meeting, Sisi said that Egypt was looking forward to Arab contribution especially from Kuwait in the development projects, adding that such contribution will boost Arab joint action at economic level especially after recent measures and laws issued to provide attracting climate to investors.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim conveyed Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber AlSabah's condolences to Sisi over his mother's death.
On his part, Sisi wished Kuwaiti leadership and people prosperity, security and stability.
In the meantime, Ibrahim hailed new Suez Canal project as well as Egyptians' ability to implement the project in one year. He also expressed Kuwait's keenness to work and invest in the Suez Canal Area Project.
The Advisor also lauded steps taken by Egypt to combat terrorism, stressing the importance of Arab joint force as well as unifying Arab efforts to combat terrorism.
On his part, Sisi underlined that Arab proposal to form an Arab defense force is not an offensive one, Youssef further said.
