Egypt Opens Channels for New Exports to Russia

The Egyptian exports to Russia recorded $ 317.2 million since January till end of August compared to $ 413 million during 2015.

The Head of the Commercial Bureau of the Egyptian Embassy in Russia Nasser Hamed told MENA that the Egyptian-Russian ties are historic, noting that the joint cooperation in the economic field is very important.

The bilateral trade reached 4.08 billion dollars during 2015, he underlined, adding that the Egyptian imports from Russia during January till August 2016 reached 21.004 million dollars.

The Egyptian exports to the Russian market are mainly fresh fruits which recorded 183 million dollars in 2015, the official reiterated, noting that orange is the most important fruit exported to Russia.

The fresh vegetables constitute 40 percent of the Egyptian exports to Russia as it reached 166 million dollars during 2015.

The ready-made clothes come in the third position of the Egyptian exports to the Russian market, Hamed underscored.
