Egypt's non-petroleum exports increased by about 9.3 percent in the period between January and August 2017 to record 13.889 billion dollars, compared to 12.698 billion during the same period in 2016.
A report by the General Organization for Export and Import Control, a copy of which MENA received Saturday, said exports of construction materials topped the list with 3.4 billion dollars.
Worth 2.77 billion dollars, chemical exports came second, the report added.
Third in the list were food exports, which amounted to 1.9 billion dollars.
Agricultural exports increased by four percent to reach 1.632 billion dollars, putting the sector in the fourth position.
Engineering and electronic exports upped by six percent to reach 1.605 billion dollars, followed by exports of ready-to-wear clothes with 939 million dollars.
Textile exports totaled 553 million dollars, recording a six percent rise on the same period last year.
