Europe's main stock markets dipped at the start of trading on Monday

Europe's main stock markets dipped at the start of trading on Monday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index down 0.5 percent at 6,158.72 points.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index lost almost 0.6 percent to 9,893.26 points and the Paris CAC 40 shed 0.8 percent to 4,425.84 compared with Friday's close.
