SCZone Ahmed Darwish

Huge Chinese investments, especially in the textile domain, will be pumped into Ein Sokhna area in the coming period, said the chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).

Addressing the first investment conference of the Belt and Silk Road gathering in Cairo, Ahmed Darwish said several meetings will be held within the coming few days with international Chinese companies to ink investment contracts in the SCZone.

Several international financial associations, including China Development Bank (CDB), Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and the African Development Bank, took part in the event. 

During the conference, Darwish reviewed available investment opportunities in the SCZone. 

The Silk Road Union comprises business organizations of 24 states, including Egypt, China, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Georgia and Jordan.
