Mashad airports

Representatives of top investment companies in France are scheduled to visit Tehran in late Summer with proposals and plans for renovation of Tehran and Mashad airports, IRNA reported on Monday.

Focusing on a recent visit of the Iranian roads and urban development minister to Paris during which he attended that city's international air show, the French media attributed the investment companies' willingness to be present in Iran to his negotiations during that visit.

The Newsletter Hebdo wrote that urban transportation will be in the focus of attention of MEDEF International (the largest French investment company) in its officials' September visit to Tehran.

The daily wrote that the managing directors of more than 70 French companies headed by one of MEDEF deputy directors had held a meeting with the Iranian roads and urban development minister and exchanged viewpoints on plans for investment in Iranian railways, roads, aviation, and housing fields.

Le Monde, too, wrote that Akhundi had in his Paris negotiations emphasized that Iran is going to purchase some 400 planes worth more than 20 billion dollars and commission the construction of nine terminals in Tehran and Mashad international airports.

Le Monde reported that the Iranian railways are in need of 25 billion dollars in foreign investments and the Iranian roads have the capacity to attract 30 billion dollars in such investments.

The reputable French daily which has very high circulation across Europe and is published in many European languages simultaneously also quoted the Iranian roads and urban development minister as saying that the French economic officials seem to be more pragmatist than their country's politicians.

'The nuclear dispute will be resolved sooner or later and the French need to know where they will stand after that,' Akhundi was quoted as saying in Le Monde.
