Russia on Wednesday wrote off 860 million dollars in debt to Uzbekistan, dpa reported.
President Vladimir Putin and his Uzbek colleague Islam Karimov
oversaw the signing of an agreement in Tashkent, the capital of the
Central Asian state, Russian news agencies reported.
Uzbek President Karimov praised Russia's role in the region.
